ABOUT

DR. LAUREN MILLARD
At Alpine Therapy, we are dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for women, LGBTQ individuals, and neurodivergent clients. My mission is to empower you through compassionate and affirming care. I understand the unique challenges faced by our communities and strive to promote inclusivity in all aspects of my practice. I'm committed to helping you navigate your mental health journey with understanding and expertise.
MY WORK
If I could summarize my passion in as few words as possible, I would say I love helping others come home to themselves and live an authentic life. For some that may look like recovering from years of disordered eating and shame about their body. For others that may mean processing complex trauma, for another it may look like managing OCD or ADHD symptoms- and for many it may be a messy combination of struggles to work through (and that's okay)!
As a Feminist psychologist, I believe that my client is just as much an expert in the room as I am- if not more so. You are the expert on your own life and experiences, and as the expert on yourself, you have agency and autonomy in this process. See my Therapy page for more info on issues I specialize in.
MY LIFE OUTSIDE MY WORK
I was born and raised in Colorado. I am a neurodivergent, queer, multi-ethnic (White/Hispanic/Latina), first-gen woman living with chronic illness. I also hold immense privilege as someone who is cisgender, able-bodied, educated, and who presents as white and heterosexual.
I married my partner in 2015, and we are the proud "pawrents" of three rescue dogs: Ella, our sweet, gentle senior mixed-breed tripawd; Storm, our wild, endless-energy springer spaniel; and Ohana, our happy (if simple) forever puppy golden retriever.
I love spending as much time as I can in Colorado's beautiful outdoors. When I'm not outside, you can usually find me on the couch, doing handicrafts while rewatching my favorite comfort shows and movies.
